Tantra – Sex Full of Pleasure!

Tantra. A word wrapped in mystery, breathing with the mystical spirit of Eastern philosophy. How are Indian religion and sensual ecstasy connected? And how can it benefit your sexual life? We’ve lifted the veil hiding a completely new dimension of pleasure...

Explaining what tantra truly is would take a long journey. Its essence is captured in the sacred texts known as tantras, in which the Hindu god Shiva reveals tantric philosophy. It’s no coincidence that this five-thousand-year-old spiritual path is often linked with sex yet more than physical union, it deals with spiritual connection. The masculine and feminine energies meet, and their union takes on a sacred dimension. “We say that tantra is the web or fabric of life it can symbolize, from an esoteric point of view, the spider web representing the Great Mother Goddess, worshiped by witches, or the safety net of marriage, when sex suddenly becomes something more than it used to be,” explains Ariana Argoni, who, together with her husband Raven, is devoted to esotericism and has co-authored several books, including the popular Magic of Sex.

How to Perform a Tantric Ritual

Ariana and Raven have personal experience with tantra and aren’t shy about sharing it. “My husband introduced me to the secrets of tantra. Raven showed me that sex is not only beautiful and joyful, and brings deep loyalty in a relationship, but also that ‘perversity,’ unusual positions, and the ritualization of sex can be noble. In tantra, a man worships his woman as a goddess, her pleasure comes first only then does the man move toward his own ‘grand finale,’” says Ariana.

How does such a tantric ritual actually take place? “First, a full-body bath is important. Both partners wash each other it should be a pleasant, unhurried moment, with candles burning if you like. After the bath comes a gentle full-body massage. Surprisingly, the next step is usually a meal, typically fish and vegetables. The body needs energy; sexual energy is life energy itself. As in everything, balance is key.

The bed should look ‘tantric’ lots of colorful cushions, a large cover, something out of One Thousand and One Nights a bit of romance for the everyday grayness. In tantra, two deities from the Hindu pantheon are invoked: Shiva and his consort Devi Shakti. During orgasm, one should even focus intensely on them. Maithuna, the so-called healing union, means joining with your partner and holding the sexual arousal in your mind but it’s a union without movement. It’s quite difficult, but with a bit of practice it can be done,” Ariana describes.

Healing Connection

A tantric union can last for several hours and Ariana confirms that a tantric orgasm can last just as long. That’s why it’s important to find a comfortable position. “In the end, there may or may not be a climax it depends on your mood and agreement,” she explains. “It’s also interesting to enrich the ritual with one practice from sexual magic the shared orgasm. That too can be learned and practiced. Because energy is involved, nourishment is important, so even during maithuna you can eat or drink something usually anything juicy,” she adds.

The foundation of the tantric ritual is arousal, connection with almost no movement, and the postponement of orgasm. This leads not only to a new dimension of pleasure but, according to those who practice tantric sex, also has healing effects. “Tantra is very healing because it includes movements that positively stimulate female organs. It not only cures inflammations but also slows aging. If you learn this practice, it will not only delight and excite you women can avoid incontinence and diseases of sexual organs, and for men, tantric rituals help with prostate problems, erection, and sensitivity,” praises the effects of tantra Ariana Argoni.

Massages for the Brave

A pleasant part of tantric sex is also the tantric massage. As with the ritual itself, the focus is on psychological harmony between the masseur and the recipient, a soothing environment, and slow, unhurried movements that lead to endless arousal and often to orgasm.

“Tantric massage combines elements of ancient tantric and Taoist techniques with classical massage, creating the atmosphere of a sensual, intimate ritual that awakens your energy and fills you with excitement and tenderness. It includes not only full-body massage with warm sesame or almond oil, but also massage of the yoni and lingam (Sanskrit names for the female and male genitals). Thanks to tantric massage, you stop experiencing orgasm only in your genitals and instead feel it throughout your whole body as a deep, fulfilling, and exhilarating sensation,” says professional masseuse Bc. Michaela Lynnette Torstenová, who runs the Integrity Center in Prague and teaches her own method, called the Inner Wave, to students from both the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Let Yourself Be Pampered

Going for a tantric massage in a specialized center requires letting go of shyness. Perhaps that’s why men are still more likely to seek out this unconventional experience. “Men are usually braver when it comes to trying something new. Women often receive the massage as a gift from a partner or a friend, though some make the appointment themselves. As awareness of tantra grows and women hear from friends who’ve tried it, the number of female clients is increasing. My youngest client was 20, the oldest 58,” describes Bc. Michaela the range of visitors to her salon.

If you decide to experience a tantric massage yourself, you can choose whether you’d prefer a male or a female masseur. “At their first visit, women usually prefer a female masseuse. They expect her to understand their body better, to be gentler, and they feel less shy. On the second or third visit, they often choose a man. But there are also women who prefer male-female polarity from the start. They are usually surprised by men’s sensitivity and perception. Another option is a four-hand massage, where clients can have both a man and a woman at the same time,” says Michaela Lynnette Torstenová.

Enrich Your Love Life!

Couples who want to spice up their relationship can try a tantra massage for couples. “About two to three couples a week come for this. For some, it’s important to be together in the same room; for others, their partner’s presence is distracting, and they can’t fully relax. Couples can choose whether to be massaged together or separately,” Michaela explains.

However, if you have a jealous partner or you yourself would struggle to watch another person touch your loved one think carefully before booking such an experience. “Women with jealous partners usually choose a female masseuse, as men tend not to be jealous of them. We had only one case of jealousy when a man greatly enjoyed his massage and reached orgasm, which upset his partner, who was expecting just a pleasant prelude to a romantic evening,” recalls Michaela.

Therefore, with couple massages it’s important to communicate your wishes clearly to the masseuses. If you feel this isn’t for you but would still like to bring tantric touch into your love life, you can take a tantric massage course, where you’ll learn techniques and how to use tools such as feathers, fans, soft fabrics, furs, and warm towels while also exploring the essence of tantra, energy, and the meaning of the ritual itself.
